The new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) standard of measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in passenger cars is being introduced from Jan 2019. It is a more accurate measure of a vehicles performance than the outgoing NEDC (New European driving cycle) system which remains in place as a measure of CO2 for taxation purposes until April 2020.
